Early this month, Trump's brazen tirade against all things: Ilhan Omar, Governor Walz, and most importantly to this conversation, Minnesotan Somalis began. The latter of which Trump has been aggressively pressing for some two weeks now, calling them all names under the sun including: "garbage", referring to Somalia as "about the worst country in the world", the fact that he doesn't want them (Somalians) in the US — et cetera, et cetera.
It certainly does seem like it has come out of nowhere, I must say. There's no need to be conspiratorial today, and I really don't plan to be; instead, I would like to discuss the quite admirable reaction from the Somali community in the US.
Humour over Hate
Instead of lambasting Trump and his base that most of these "garbage" Somalis living in Minnesota, and the greater city of Minneapolis, are in fact perfectly born and naturalised in the US and have been there their entire life — which is, of course, true — they decided to instead turn these attacks on their head and forge an ingenious, probably inadvertent, social media led crusade joking that the state of Minnesota was promised to the Somalis 3,000 years ago (thereby mimicking the talking points coming from the Zionist and neo-con crowd). It's truly ingenious!
Anyone who disagrees with the fact that the great state of Minnesota wasn't promised to the Somalis 3,000 years ago is well… antisomalic. It's one state, one out of 50. Why is it that there can be 49 white American majority states, and not even one Somali majority state? Just one! You have hostile forces, in red states, all around Minnesota openly calling for the eradication of the Somali homeland. That's why there's no better time than now for an aid package piece of legislation to be drafted in Congress for there to be another $4 billion sent to Minnesota; the American Somali Public Affairs Committee (SAPAC) will make sure their handlers are on top of this urgent and potentially nation-threatening issue with the utmost priority, I am told. Don't forget also that in Genesis 12:3 it states that “those who bless Somalia will be blessed, and those who curse Somalia will be cursed.” It's incontrovertible that the Somalis aren't just biblically protected but specifically chosen by God.
Obviously, I'm being facetious; astaghfirullah, but my goodness does it break down the whole Israeli narrative that has been being pushed for who knows how long now. It's comedy at the highest level — high-IQ comedy, I call it. Which is ironic, actually, for so many reasons, like how Trump's base insists that these Somalis coming over are somehow low IQ; well, so much for getting outwitted by these "low IQ third-worlders."
What Are the Actual Facts?
Minnesota is a relatively large (the 12th largest by land area) and cold state in the upper Midwest of the US, leaning fairly blue, which leads to a larger community of immigrants calling the state home than, say, a red state like Wyoming, West Virginia, or North Dakota.
Even then, though, that doesn't mean Minnesota is somehow a white minority state, or about to become one — the Somali population in Minnesota is ~100,000, give or take (with another 100,000 diaspora spread out across the country); that's not even 2% of Minnesota, and only 0.06% of the US as a whole. What's also worth taking into account: 58% of Somalis in Minnesota were born in the US and therefore have birthright citizenship guaranteed by the 14th Amendment. So, here comes the actual reality of this situation…
Somalis ≠ The Problem
Quite the opposite, in fact, Somalia is over 9,000 miles away from the US; therefore, they make up very few of the immigrant pool coming into the country. To travel that type of distance, it's a sure thing that the place you're travelling to isn't just expecting you, but awaiting your arrival to the minute; thereby making these Somalis, who are quite literally travelling across the globe, perfectly legal, and probably, in hindsight, bringing a lot to the table, like capital, skills, and expertise.
The actual problem, however, is some 15 million illegals in the US, with most of them coming from Latin America like Mexico, Guatemala, and Venezuela. With 40% of those 15 million being Mexican — Mexico being a predominantly Roman Catholic country, as are Guatemala and Venezuela also.
I don't see where Islam fits into all of this, I'll be honest with you — and yet Trump can't stop whining and moaning about not even 1% of the country’s total population. You have loan gunman, rogue assailants, and idle opportunists roaming the streets in some of the most densely populated cities in the US; Trump turns a blind eye. But the Somalis… they're the real problem. It's so funny, it gets old; just not for the Somalis — keep up the humour, guys! Desperately needed in a world so full of hate.
